This is one of the great mysteries of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. When fans aren’t wondering where Gondor was when the Westfold fell, they’re wondering about the existence of the Entwives. As a reminder, Ents are giant trees endowed with speech and extraordinary strength.
This ancestral species is generally peaceful. But beware of those who provoke them, as Saruman learned to his cost. The deforestation ordered by the latter in Fangorn Forest provoked the wrath of the treetop, the sound of which gathered together an army of Ents, causing the White Witch to fall at the end of the Two Towers.
Ent’s anger is terrible
Treebeard also befriended the two hobbits Pippin and Merry. During their discussion, the giant tree was asked about the Ent-Women. The latter confirmed their existence, but stated that he had not met representatives of their species for a long time and had no idea of the reason for their sudden disappearance.
Thanks to the series of Rings of Power, fans of Tolkien’s universe were finally able to discover what Ent-woman looks like. We remind you that the show takes place several millennia before the plot of The Lord of the Rings. and therefore until the latter’s disappearance into Middle Earth.
Escaping an attack by mercenaries with Hadar’s pay, Theo finds himself raised from the ground by a giant creature. Episode 4 of Season 2 opens with a meeting between a young man and some Ents named Snaggleroot (voiced by Jim Broadbent in the original version) and Winterblossom (Olivia Williams).
Ents-femmes existence confirmed!
These two giant trees are characters invented by the scriptwriters of the program from scratch (as well as Theo and the elf Arondir, by the way). Although this scene does not answer the question of the disappearance of the Ents-femmes, the series still confirms their existence.

“Hedgehogs are a species from Middle-earth that we know about, but we’ve never seen an Ent couple, let alone an Ent wife.” Series co-showrunner Patrick McKay responded to SFX Magazine. “So this is a moment that the fans have not been waiting for on the way to fight in the region.”
Rings of Power Season 2 episodes can be seen every week exclusively on Prime Video.
