Todd Phillips used to meet with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, the stars of the new film, to discuss new ideas.
Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) revealed that, during the recordings of Joker: Delirium for Twothe long-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film, used to meet frequently with the director Todd Phillips (The Hangover) and his co-star, Joaquin Phoenix (Beau is Afraid), to discuss new ideas for the new script.
“We often gathered in the trailer of Joaquin and sometimes we would just destroy the script and start over. It was a really cool process, very liberating.”the actress told Vanity Fair.
In the interview, Phillips confirmed the information: “What do I say about Joaquin is that he is the tunnel at the end of the light“he joked. “You think, ‘Okay, this scene works, let’s shoot it.’ And the Joaquin says, ‘No, no, no, let’s have a quick meeting about it.’ And three passes and you’re rewriting [a cena] on a napkin”added the filmmaker.
What we already know about Joker: Delirium for Two?
In Joker: Delirium for Twowe must follow the birth of the explosive relationship between Arthur Fleckwho at the end of the first film assumed the identity of Joker and began to terrorize the city of Gotham, and its psychiatrist, Harley Quinnwho ends up falling madly in love with her patient.
Who else is in the cast?
In addition to Joaquin Phoenix again in the skin of Arthur Fleck/Joker, Zazie Beetz also returns in the second film as Sophie Drummondthe villain’s romantic interest in the first film. Among the new features, Lady Gaga is the main addition, but it also gains the company of Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jacob Lofland (A Son), Catherine Keener (Run!), Ken Leung (Lost) and Harry Lawtey (The Pale Blue Eye).
