‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ Meme Inspired Some of Thor: Love and Thunder’s Most Iconic Characters
who watched Thor: Love and Thunder(2022), sure noticed two new characters that drew a lot of attention throughout the film. the goats that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) wins at the beginning of the movie, after saving a planet, are huge and mostly very noisy.
However, the director Taika Waititi revealed that this was not the initial idea and in fact their sounds were inspired by a popular song meme “I Knew You Were Trouble,” by the american singer Taylor Swift. “They weren’t supposed to scream. The goats would always be there, because they’re in the comics, but we didn’t know what they would sound like,” he explained. waititi to insider (via Omelet).
“Someone in post-production found this meme of a song by Taylor Swift that has goats screaming. I didn’t even know it existed. When I heard the goats, I thought it was amazing. A lot of people think it’s me screaming, but it’s not.” The meme in question is a joke that swaps the vocals of Swift in “I Knew You Were Trouble” by goat screams. Check out:
