Typhoon Yagi kills at least 59, injures nearly 300 in Vietnam


The bridge collapsed with vehicles after the flood and remained missing

Typhoon Yagi, which hit Vietnam last Saturday (7), killed at least 59 people and injured 299 others.

Winds that exceeded 100 kilometers per hour, accompanied by heavy rains, destroyed thousands of trees, houses and crops. Several vehicles were also swept away.

This Monday (9), a bridge over the Red River, in the north of the country, was swept away by flooding caused by the Yagi, causing several cars to fall. According to local media, four people were rescued, while at least 13 are missing.

According to the Thai Meteorological Department, Vietnam is still expected to suffer from strong winds and torrential rains.
