Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland: Director Named and He’s an MCU Regular!

Slowly but surely, Spider-Man Returns is brewing. With nearly two billion dollars collected worldwide by No Way Home, Sony and Marvel aren’t going to stop there.

and for good reason The Hollywood Reporter Reveals the name of the film’s director, who is directing the upcoming sequel: Destine Daniel Cretton. The director is a regular in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as we owe him Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was released in 2021.

If nothing is official yet – the negotiating stage in Hollywood takes time – Destine Daniel Cretton could be the fourth director to bring Spider-Man to the big screen. He can replace Jon Watts – behind the last trilogy – Marc Webb and Sam Raimi.

What do we really know about this new movie? Not much, except that Tom Holland will indeed return in the title role, as will the writers of the three previous films, Chris McKenna and Eric Somers.

There’s no word on whether other cast members like Zendaya will be there. At the end of No Way Home, Doctor Strange erases Spider-Man from all world memory. This fourth film could be an opportunity to start a whole new chapter for the hero.

Information (denied?) on Spider-Verse 3

At the same time, scoop site The Insider It has been announced that part of the third part of the animated Spider-Verse, titled Beyond the Spider-Verse, has been abandoned by Sony and the release has been pushed back to 2027. Information that the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton appears to deny via a tongue-in-cheek message posted on X. (formerly Twitter):

I really don’t want to opine on this, but do you think there might be things that aren’t always particularly accurate on the internet? hmm…

Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Verse 3 don’t have official release dates yet.
