Could love be in the air in Un si grand soleil?
While the police investigate the kidnapping of Evan Cresson (Guillaume Delorme), Alex (Benjamin Bourgois) becomes the bait. Indeed, a police officer signs up on the famous dating app Affinita to contact three women who were suspected in the doctor’s disappearance.
And if he’s never been so lucky when it comes to his heart, Alex might just find love along the way…
Met last July during a visit to the Un si grand soleil studios in Vendarg, Alexis’ translator Benjamin Bourgois spoke at the microphone of Allocine about what lies ahead for his character during the next episodes of the daily soap opera France 3.
Allocine: How do you see the evolution of your character since entering Un si grand soleil?
Benjamin Bourgois : I find that evolution is very slow. Maybe a little too much. During the separation of Alex and Julie it was possible to see something, not dark or negative, because Alex will always remain someone very sunny, but bolder and more mature in his way of life and seeing himself.
Alex is quite passive as a boy, sometimes everything goes away. I thought it would change, at least that’s what the artist told me. And finally, as time went on, the stories intermingled, things didn’t quite work out that way, no doubt for reasons of timing and narrative structure.
But if there was one development for Alex’s character, this would be it. I catch a little. I wish he would buy some courage and character. And then, when it comes to love, he tries to capture the affect in a different way.
Were you surprised that Alex bonded with Mo so quickly (Frederick KamatarAfter breaking up with Julie (Sophie Staub)
Absolutely! This made it possible to outline the comedic axis. This helped the writers figure out what they wanted to say in terms of comedy in the couple’s relationship. What worked in this plot was that Alex was attached and Mo left. This allowed Alex to fall into his trap with a strong touch of comedy and somewhat burlesque situations.
That being said, it was a little to the detriment of what Alex’s character could have become: a little more reluctant to love someone, and a little tougher. We are brought back to the love story and desires as a couple.
However, it is true that this guy has an inner character that probably likes to settle down. I imagined that things might have changed with Julie, or at least she might have distanced herself, but she was quickly back on the horse of routine and wanting love and comfort.
We feel that love remains Alex’s biggest flaw. Will your character find true love?
Really, I don’t know. In any case, Alex will meet a new person and once again in a very specific context. He will meet a young woman with a special and rather fiery character.
Alex will be completely overwhelmed by this and there will be many twists and turns. We can obviously imagine it’s going to be exciting for Alex anyway, because it’s happening to him.
What will happen to Alex in the next episodes?
They are going to kidnap Evan Cresson. The police come to the conclusion that he may have been kidnapped by a woman and she used a dating app to achieve this.
Since the police can’t extract information from this app, Alex will become a decoy. After that, he will create an account on this app and will come across a girl who will completely annoy him.
Do you have any other projects besides Un si grand soleil that you can talk about?
I’m filming Murder at Chartres, directed by Sandrine Cohen. I have a small role, but it is very pleasant. I think more and more about writing. I am also going to do things with my wife, with whom I work well. Eventually, I will probably direct because people are asking me.
