22 years ago, the public discovered Manny, Diego, Sid and Scratt, who in time became the mascots of Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldana’s Ice Age saga. The animated franchise produced by Studio Blue Sky consists of five films, the last of which Ice Age: Laws of the Universe was released in theaters in 2016.
In total, the saga earned $3.5 billion at the international box office and brought 27.4 million viewers to French theaters. The most profitable film is the third part Ice Age 3 – Age of the Dinosaurs with $886 million worldwide and 7.8 million admissions in France!
Ice Age at Disney
After Disney’s takeover of Fox, the saga is no longer talked about. But when recording a podcast “wait wait wait“, actor John Leguizamo, who voiced Sid in the original version, announced that a sixth film was in the works, simply announcing: “We’re going to make Ice Age 6.”
9 years after the fifth film, the new opus saw the light of day. We still don’t know anything about this feature film, but this sixth film marks the arrival of Disney’s Ice Age characters.
We hope that the iconic Vincent Cassel, Gérard Lanvin and Elie Semyon will reprise their roles as Diego the saber tiger, Manny the mammoth and Sid the sloth.
In Ice Age: The Laws of the Universe, the latest installment in the franchise, Scrat’s eternal quest to capture his hustle catapults him into space, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age world.
In order to survive, Sid, Manny, Diego and the rest of the gang will have to leave home and embark on a new adventure, during which they will cross incredible exotic landscapes and meet characters, each more surprising than the last.
