A serious accident at work caused the death of Lizandro Alves de Souza, 39 years old, on Friday night (13), in a slaughterhouse in Caxias do Sul, in the Serra Gaúcha.
According to initial reports, Souza was working in one of the plant’s cold storage rooms when, around 10:50 p.m., he lost his balance and fell, hitting his head. Despite treatment, he did not survive his injuries and died on the spot.
The fire brigade was called to remove the victim’s body. The Civil Police, the General Institute of Expertise (IGP) and the Military Brigade were also present on site to carry out the appropriate procedures.

The case will be investigated by the Ministry of Labor and Employment of Caxias do Sul, which will be responsible for investigating working conditions at the construction site and identifying any irregularities that may have contributed to the accident.
