Vale SA informed this Saturday, through a statement to the market, that it is carrying out further checks at the Forquilha III dam after a routine inspection detected surface cracks.
The Forquilha III dam is located in the Fábrica mine, in Ouro Preto, in the interior of Minas Gerais.
“The Company keeps the relevant public bodies informed and, if necessary, implements an action plan for investigation and correction,” the statement reads. “Vale emphasizes that the stability conditions of the facility remain unchanged.”
