Luke Jackson is serving two years in a labor camp for vandalism. There he befriends another inmate, Draline, and soon becomes the most popular inmate thanks to his phlegm and infectious joie de vivre.

This pitch is Cold Hand Luke, directed by Paul Newman in one of his best roles. Directed by Stuart Rosenberg (Brubaker), this iconic prison film released in theaters in 1967, a scathing indictment of the system, is still highly effective.
