Fortaleza overwhelms Juventus and takes the lead in the Cearense U20 semi-final


With goals from Kauê Canela, Amorim, Robinho and Fabrício, Leão do Pici secures the 4-0 on the scoreboard and is closer to qualifying for the state final




Fortaleza beat the Juventus with the score of 4-0, this Sunday (15), in the first match of the semifinal of the Cearense Under 20 Championship, at the Presidente Vargas stadium, and opened an advantage in the fight for a place in the final of the competition. Kauê Canela, Amorim, Robinho and Fabrício scored the goals for Leão do Pici.

After being eliminated by Cruzeiro in the Brasileirão U20, Fortaleza arrived at the decisive match of the state championship with the desire to secure the advantage and get closer to qualification. To triumph, the Tricolors dominated both stages and built a great score, heading calmly to the second stage.

In the first half, Fortaleza put the Bianconeri defense under pressure and opened the scoring with Kauê Canela, who took advantage of Amorim’s cross and finished in the net. The second goal came a few minutes later, when Lucca Prior was brought down in the area and a penalty was awarded. Amorim took charge and converted the shot.

In the second period, Leão decided to manage possession and avoid exposing his goal. Regaining control of the game, Fortaleza managed to come back with Quarcoo, who helped Robinho score the third goal. The last goal came from the feet of Fabrício, who took advantage of a rebound in the area and pushed the ball into the net, completing the tricolor defeat.

With the overall advantage, Fortaleza goes to the return leg and can be defeated with a maximum of three goals difference, qualifying. To take the dispute to penalties, Juventus needs a four-goal difference on the scoreboard. The teams will return to the field on Wednesday (18), at 15:00 (Brasilia time), at the Presidente Vargas stadium, for the second leg of the Cearense U20 semi-final.
