RenĂ© Falconetti’s third and final screen appearance, The Passion of Joan of Arc is often considered one of the greatest silent films of all time. Designed as a talking feature film, it particularly marked the cinema’s memory with close-ups of its actor’s highly expressive face, delivering one of the greatest interpretations in history.

Joan of Arc has been played many times on screen, most notably by Ingrid Bergman in 1948, Jean Seberg in 1957, and Milla Jovovich in the 1999 version by Luc Besson.
