It took a lot of patience to discover a little more about Mickey 17, Bong Joon-ho’s new movie, from the Hollywood cast of his new English-language film. After the first cryptic teaser released in December 2022, radio silence from Warner Studios, who finally decided to postpone the release.
Originally scheduled for March 29, 2024, the feature film was pushed back to January 29 in France—a delay justified by Hollywood strikes from May 2023, delaying post-production. A new trailer – the real one, this time – was revealed on the scene.

Bong Joon-ho’s film seems to take some liberties with the original book, as there are 18 versions of the main character in the adaptation. In the lead role we find Robert Pattinson, surrounded by Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight), Toni Collette (Heritage), Steven Yeun (NOPE) and Naomi Aki (I Wanna Dance With Somebody).
It goes without saying that Mickey 17 is one of the most anticipated movies of 2025. With Parasite, a Palme d’Or winner at Cannes, Bong Joon Ho became the first South Korean filmmaker to win an Oscar for Best Director. The thriller also won the Oscar for Best Picture. In France, as well as around the world, Parasite was a real success, collecting more than 1.8 million records.
