Chloe prepares to go back to school in Tomorrow Belongs to Us.
After the explosion at Agnes Varda High School, the Delcourt girl underwent a deep investigation. Haunted by this horrific event, Chloe decided to resume her studies to become a nurse. A turning point that marks the beginning of a new adventure for him.
A few days ago, during the La Rochelle Arts Festival, Ingrid Chauvin, the iconic interpreter of Chloë Delcourt, spoke to Alocine about what awaits her character in the next episodes.
Allocine: After the high school explosion, Chloe experienced a lot of self-questioning. How do you see this development?
Ingrid Chauvin : The high school explosion was a riot for Chloe. I think what caused him was seeing how he hurt his mother and feeling helpless. There was a kind of frustration and a desire to feel useful to others.
Through Chloe’s journey, this is a powerful message you are sending to all women who want to change their ways. Do you like your character carrying that kind of message?
I got real feedback. And this is really a very relevant topic. There was a period of Covid when many asked the question, wanted to live somewhere else and reconsidered their priorities. I think we are in the middle. And then it’s interesting because in Tomorrow Belongs to Us we move very quickly. With the click of a finger, everything changes completely. And there, the process will continue for two years. Everything happens slowly and almost normally, so it’s interesting.
It’s been a long time since the Delcourt family has been at the center of a summer of intrigue. How was this shoot going outside of the usual Tomorrow Belongs To Us locations?
It was interesting because we had a feeling that we should do something different. We lose our attitude and it’s nice. We were in a unique setting so we were able to sit back and settle down. It was a bit tiring but exciting at the same time because we had security. Also, seeing new characters that are part of the Delcourt family was really cool.
Michael, Mia and Octave recently moved into the Delcourts, how will cohabitation be with all these people?
We’re really early in the installation process, but I imagine they’ll eventually find a place to settle down. It’s funny because the Delcourt family is a bit like everyone’s host family.
Chloe is a deeply human and other-oriented character. You know Mia and Octave just lost their mother, what role will she play?
Mia is special because her mother was a little hard on her. Obviously, Chloe is going to go against it. It will be in envelope, protection and complicity. He will be very present to Octavia and Mia.
Diego does not really feel like a full-fledged member of the Declurt family. Will Chloe and Alex accept it to make it more official?
It’s a good idea. I don’t know if this is planned or not, but it would be great! And then I realize that it also gives a lot of hope. When it comes to foster children, there is a lot to be done. If something could be changed, it wouldn’t be bad.
Chloe had just received an illustration from The Adventures of Mina, a cartoon that Benoît Letelier was distributing before the victims were killed. Knowing that Benoit has escaped from prison, are Chloe and Alex in danger?
They always are! Nothing is finished (laughs).
What can you tell us about what to expect in the next few episodes?
Robin will be able to prove that he is not as rotten as people think.
Is it possible for Robin and Alex to reconcile?
Chloe is going to help Alex get there. He asks her to look things over and tries to make him realize that deep down she still loves her brother.
It’s almost back to school for Chloe. What awaits your character in this brand new adventure?
Chloe will begin her observation period at the hospital. The funny thing is that he ends up with a group of twentysomethings. She will have the impression that she is a bit of a duty grandmother, and at the same time they will want to take her to a student party. He will learn the language of the youth to be less disruptive to this group.
How will she handle the two aspects of her new life?
It will be divided between family life and new student life. Chloe doesn’t want to feel out of place or excluded from this group of young people. So he’s going to attend a few parties and try to come up with some jokes that are incomprehensible (laughs).
How will the collaboration between Mariana and Chloe work at the hospital?
There will be friction, that’s for sure. That’s what’s nice about this relationship. They love to hate each other. And at the same time, I think it can make room for shared emotions over time because they’re both going through things. We must not forget that Mariana always wanted her daughter to work in the same industry as her. And here we are! Well, Chloe is bound to do stupid things and get into trouble. Mariana is not going to miss it (laughs).
Who says career change, says new environment. Who will Chloe befriend in the hospital?
Chloe develops a friendship and bond with a classmate she finds herself interning with. The game is funny and special because Chloe is an adult and she finds herself with a little 24-year-old girl who has her own ideas and priorities. Then there will definitely be meetings and relatives in the hospital itself, but I don’t know with whom yet.
Chloe and Alex are now a united and strong couple. What do the coming weeks hold for them?
Alex is happy that Chloe is back to studying. He will be there for her and encourage her to go out with a new group of young people.
