what are you talking about
Now stripped of all her powers, the infamous Agatha Harkness is nothing more than a shadow of her former self. Until the day a goth teenager helps him escape this difficult fate.
Agatha’s interest is piqued when he begs her to walk the legendary Sorcerer’s Path with him, a mythical path consisting of a series of magical tests that, if overcome, will reward any enchantment, offering him what he lacks.
Agatha and this mysterious boy will soon gather a community of witches before embarking on this highly epic journey…
who is he with
Did you love her in WandaVision? He is now headlining his own series. Katherine Hanna once again slips into the extravagant garb of Agatha Harkness, the former owner of the Darkhold (before Wanda fixed and destroyed her).
And the American actress finally has all the space she needs to showcase her talent, humor and vocal abilities.
She is surrounded by more or less famous faces who are part of her coven of witches: the mysterious Joe Locke (seen in Heartstopper on Netflix), whose role is being kept under wraps, the brilliant Patti LuPone (she will sing in Agatha All Along) and Aubrey Plaza, who will come and solve any trouble for our hero.
is it worth watching
It was Agatha All Soooong. If you know this song, it’s because you watched WandaVision and were shocked by the revelation in episode 7: Wanda’s kind neighbor is actually a super-powered witch, and she’s been wearing strings all along.
After being beaten by the Scarlet Witch, who now calls herself Agnes, is stuck in Westview. But he can rely on his other companion to help him escape this spell.
The first episode opens with Kathryn Hahn’s character finding herself in a fake detective series. A parody of Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet, in which she must investigate the murder of a young woman.
We learn that the body is none other than Wanda’s, confirming the Scarlet Witch’s death at the end of Doctor Strange 2 .
After doing wonders with WandaVision, showrunner Jacques Schaefer is using the same recipe for his spin-off: ultra-referenced programming that parodies or is inspired by the greatest American series and certain eras (the hippie years, the 80s…).
The first episode is a pure delight: Kathryn Hahn does a great job as a broken cop, and we can only expect one thing from her: to make this kind of true cop series.
We almost forget we’re watching a Marvel series until reality hits with the second episode, which completely changes style. And that’s the promise of Agatha All Along: a journey between genres that allows the audience to be entertained and the actors to show their acting range.
The addition of musical scenes in the series gives it an undeniable charm.
(This is the first song we hear in the series)
With Agatha All Along, Maison des Idées digs deeper into a new segment: witches. Even if we’ve already had the Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, Agatha’s story is very different, far closer to the Wizard of Oz in the past than a Marvel blockbuster.
Disney+ is offering a new Marvel series right now because it’s perfect for Halloween. If we were promised a few jumps, it’s not particularly scary.
But the various trials that the Coven must overcome and the mysteries that seem to be a common thread keep us intrigued enough to want to wait for the series every week.
The first two episodes of Agatha all Along are now available on Disney+. The rest will be released weekly.
