The actor and director Johnny Depp will receive a career award in Rome Film Festivalwhich will take place from October 16 to 27. During the event, the film directed by Depp, Modi – Three Days on the Wing of Madness, will be displayed in the Grand Public section.

The film is a biographical drama that portrays 72 hours in the life of the famous Italian artist. Amedeo Modiglianiand marks Johnny’s return to directing after more than two decades.
The plot of Modiis set in Paris during the First World War and chronicles the three days that changed Modigliani’s life. The film stars Riccardo Scamarcio in the role of Modigliani and other great names like Al Pacinowho plays art collector Maurice Gangnat, as well as Antonia Desplat, Stephen Graham (The Irishman), Bruno Gouery (The White Lotus), Ryan McParland (Halo) and Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones).
This project marks Depp’s return to directing, following his first film, The Brave (1997), which was poorly received by critics. It is also one of the actor’s first major productions since his 2022 victory in the defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife. Amber Heard.
