THE Netflix is adapting the novel People We Meet on Vacation(in Brazil, People We Met on Vacation) for a film, and the cast has already been partially defined. The film will star Tom Blyth (known as The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and Emily Bader (My Lady Jane) as the protagonists Poppy Wright and Alex Nilsen. Additionally, the film will feature a supporting cast that includes Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Lucien Laviscount and Luke Gage.

The plot revolves around Poppy and Alex, who are best friends with opposite personalities — she is adventurous and outgoing, while he is more homely and introspective. The two usually spend a week on vacation together every summer, but after a disastrous trip, they end up drifting apart. The story, based on the best-selling book of the same name by Emily Henryexplores the relationships between friends and takes place over several journeys.

There is currently no official release date for the film, but expectations are high, as the original book was a huge success, as were other adaptations of contemporary novels for the Netflix.
