Will Monster Series: Lyle and Eric Menendez’s story be the same as Dahmer’s two years earlier? If the subscribers are sure to be, this “Season 2” (even if it is an anthology) will be very different from the first. Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan this time focus on a slightly lesser-known story about two brothers who murdered their parents.
A crime for which they are serving life sentences after a high-profile trial because they come from a very wealthy family. Their father, Jose Menendez, was an influential person in the music industry. But what the series does tell, with varying degrees of success, is how Lyle and Eric got there, and how their father’s abuse changed them. “like a monster”.
Much brighter than Dahmer, Monsters Season 2 brings another visual style. But this should be better distinguished from the madness that drives Lyle and Eric. Because even if we can’t qualify them as serial killers, the way they premeditated their parent’s murder and the lavish lifestyle they led after that event clearly makes them sociopaths…
Unhealthy obsession noted
It is still too early to make an assessment of Monsters season 2, since the series is only available for 24 hours on Netflix, but the first opinions left by subscribers on the AlloCiné profile and on Twitter give us a general idea. And it’s clear that viewers still aren’t convinced about Lyle and Eric Menendez’s story.
While some criticize it for the liberties it takes with the plot, it is primarily the writing approach and treatment of the characters that raises questions. Like Dahmer, the series wants to create a kind of unhealthy admiration for these two killers who are glorified on screen. The camera does not hesitate to take close-ups of their bodies and glamorize them.
But if Murphy and Brennan do it, it’s because they’re going to delve deep into the psyches of these two monsters over the course of the season (because yes, we’re monsters when we kill and no matter how much) and not stay “on the surface.”
Ryan Murphy had to choose other real serial killers for Monsters Season 2, but the Menendez brothers aren’t monsters unlike Dahmer.#Netflix

With its Monsters series, Netflix wants to give serial killers a sensual, glamorous side by casting actors who are fun to watch as monsters, like Dahmer and now the Menendez brothers.

I’m currently watching the Menendez Brothers in Monster on Netflix and I really don’t agree with calling these guys “Monster” between Dahmer and Gein. Here we are talking about the murder of 2 people, their parents, and on suspicion of incest, it has nothing to do with psychopaths.

How Netflix represents the Menendez brothers, on the other hand, is honestly a 0/10. Their assumption of being gay is frankly disgusting

The Netflix series about the Menendezs is very well done, but unbearable to watch

According to Rfavs0e: “This show is horrible. I’ve watched almost every show, seen the evidence and everything, so I can tell you it’s very inaccurate and hard to watch. They add too much detail and the personalities are extremely exaggerated. Some scenes are not historically accurate. Don’t let this show blow your brains. to wash it off”.
According to Fourneret Gaetan: “It’s nice, but they’re not the killers of the century compared to Dahmer, like in other series, or others like Bundy to bring in another celebrity. Actually the problem is that we still don’t know the fundamental reality of the lie. About sexual abuse the subject too young or too Unreliable, after their death and highlighting this mystery, would have been better.
According to Tarzanujan: “A wonderful series that follows the family journey of the Melendez brothers, who are now serving life sentences for the murder of their parents. We gradually discover the motivations of each character through a great story line…and also that they are not monsters. Always what we think they must be.” see.”
If Mean Monsters: The Lily and Eris Menendez Story is only a 2.9/5 on AlloCiné at the moment, it’s sure to rise this weekend as subscribers take the time to soak it up.
And what do you think about the series at the moment?
