Avengers Endgame: No one noticed this Marvel hero’s presence 51 minutes into the movie

It’s no secret: the feature films that make up the Marvel Cinematic Universe are full of oceans that spawn many easter eggs. Perhaps more than any other pop culture franchise, this is truly a dream hunting ground for all seekers of hidden details.

Avengers Endgame, the 22nd feature film in the saga and the true high point of the Marvel epic, includes dozens of not-to-be-missed announcements. However, even after years of research, the most diligent detectives can find new winks throughout the series.

What interests us today would never have come to light without the intervention of the film’s two directors, Joe and Anthony Russo. It concerns the true identity of the infamous NoobMaster69, a Fortnite player whom Tori questions and threatens when Hulk and Rocket Racoon come looking for the latter at his home in New Asgard.

In 51 minutes and 20 seconds…

The sequence occurs at exactly 51 minutes and 20 seconds into the film. While the God of Thunder tries to drown his sorrows in beer and sports channels, his fellow corgi complains that a mysterious online gamer is insulting him.

Thor then addresses him personally to force him to disconnect, insisting that otherwise he will fly home. “get off your head”.

Although at first glance, you might think that Thor was just talking to some poor teenage Fortnite fan, that’s not the case. Indeed, without knowing it, it is really the avenger he is talking to!

As mentioned recently in an article ColliderIn August 2019, the Russo brothers themselves confirmed that NoobMaster69 was none other than… Wong, the sidekick of Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Wong.

By the time the events of Avengers Endgame take place, he’ll likely be taking over from Stephen Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme, but he still seems to have found time to play a few games of Fortnite.

The X post where the filmmakers gave fans this fun tidbit has since been deleted, but the fact remains that we now know the truth about the infamous NoobMaster.
