Country singer investigated in Operation Integration faces Interpol red notice and could be arrested abroad
The Federal Police has requested the inclusion of the singer Gustavo Lima in the Interpol red broadcast. The measure is used to inform member countries of international arrest warrants, allowing the detention of targets outside their jurisdictions. The singer was already included in the International Traffic System (STI), which alerts Brazilian authorities of passages at airports.
He reportedly flew to Miami, United States, where he recently purchased a million-dollar mansion.
Charge of supporting fugitives
Gusttavo Lima is being investigated for an alleged relationship with José André da Rocha Neto, owner of the VaideBet betting house, and his wife Aislla Rocha. The couple has been on the run since the start of Operation Integration, which began on September 4. According to the investigation, the singer facilitated their escape, helping them leave Brazil. The Court of Justice of Pernambuco had already ordered the preventive detention of Gusttavo Lima, considering that he had an “intense financial relationship” with the fugitives.
The defense denies the charges
Gusttavo Lima’s defense reacted to the decision, stating that the arrest warrant was unjust and that the singer “has not committed any illegal act.” The statement also emphasized that “the artist and his companies have no involvement in the crimes being investigated.” The defense of the Rochas also denied any irregularity, specifying that the accusations will be refuted “with facts and documents.”
