The Netflix production will dramatize the life and career of Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna, played by Gabriel Leone
Netflix has released posters and cast photos for “Senna,” a miniseries about the life of racing driver Ayrton Senna (1960-1994). The images feature actor Gabriel Leone (“Dom”), dressed in the classic red McLaren uniform.
The production will tell the story of the beginning of Ayrton Senna’s racing career, from the time he went to live in England to race in Formula Ford, to his tragic accident in Italy. The work also promises to show that the driver was more than just one of the greatest sports idols.
The cast also includes actress Alice Wegman (“Rensga Hits!”) as Lilian, the pilot’s first wife, Camila Márdila (“Que Horas Ela Volta?”) as his sister Viviane, Pâmela Tomé (“Sol Nascente”) as Xuxa Meneghel, Julia Foti (“After the Crazy Sou Eu”) as Adriane Galisteu, Gabriel Louchard (“Incompatibility”) as Galvão Bueno, Hugo Bonemer (“The Secret Life of a Couple”) as Nelson Piquet, Susana Ribeiro (“The Mecanismo”) as Neide Senna, Marco Ricca (“Hebe”) as Miltão, English-Brazilian Kaya Scodelario as journalist Laura Harrison, English Patrick Kennedy (“The Queen’s Gambit”) as McLaren team leader Ron Dennis, English Steven Mackintosh (“Night Angels: Evolution”) as Frank Williams, owner of the Williams team, Dutchman Johannes Heinrichs (“Milk & Honey”) as driver Niki Lauda, Frenchman Matt Mella (“The Winter King”) as driver Alain Prost and also Frenchman Arnaud Viard (“A Stroke of Luck in Paris”) as Formula 1 boss Jean-Marie Balestre, among other names.
The miniseries on Ayrton Senna debuts on November 29.
