Disney has already announced that Disney Plus subscribers will have to pay an additional fee to share their password with others. Now, the company has confirmed how much it will cost consumers.
This Wednesday (25), the company confirmed in its official website that adding an “extra member” to an ad-supported plan will cost $6.99 per month, with the price rising to $9.99 for the ad-free plan.
Disney also reported that “features and functionality are now available in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.” Therefore, the arrival of this charge in Brazil will take some time, and the value in reais is not confirmed.
The company says the additional member offer will allow you to share your subscription with a friend or family member who lives outside your household. This option only applies if you have a standalone Disney Plus subscription. In other words, it won’t work in conjunction with Hulu, ESPN Plus, and other services offered in foreign markets.
The extra member add-on also has some limitations. This member will be limited to one profile and will only be able to stream and download on one device at a time.
Disney also says that extra members “cannot have an active Hulu subscription or an active or canceled Disney+ or ESPN+ subscription.” The limit contacted Disney asking for more information about it, but did not immediately receive a response.
