investigation book gravediggersVictor Castanet, who denounced mistreatment at a private nursing home in Giant Orpeaux, is set to become a television film for France 2, with filming to begin on Thursday, September 26 in Bordeaux.

An exciting TV movie

It was Guillaume Nicloux (In the Skin of Blanche Houellebecq) who began writing this adaptation, entitled Les Rives du Fleuve, with the help of Anna-Louise Trividic. The director will also be responsible for this 90-minute TV movie directed by Elodie Boucher.

The fiction follows Alice, a veterinarian in her fifties, as she confronts the mysterious and sudden death of her mother shortly after being placed in a nursing home.

Devastated, she sinks into mourning and guilt. But when Uncle Jacques tells her that he is moving into the same apartment, the fear of losing him also acts as a detonator for Alice. He then begins an investigation into the circumstances of his mother’s death and soon discovers disturbing irregularities at the facility.

When she meets Nasser, a young man with an explosive temper who also worries her grandfather as well as the resident, Alice finds an ally in what was previously a personal crusade. Together, they reveal serious dysfunctions and repeated negligence that the facility’s management is covering up.

But the investigation sparked an uproar and the residence was soon alerted, raising fears of repercussions for Alis and Nasser’s relatives out of sight. As Alice begins to give up, exhausted by the strain of the investigation, which borders on obsession, the journalist introduces himself to her: Victor Castanet, who is determined to expose the systemic violence in the group.

Casting was under the direction of Elodi Bouches

It is Elodie Bouches, who will therefore have to face the difficult task of Alice, this woman who is looking for the truth. Uncle Jacques is played by Didier Flamand, who recently starred in DaaaaalĂ! by Quentin Dupuy, and Sammy Lechea, seen in the Cannes series Police Criminalle, portrays Nasser.

The cast includes Eric Caravaca (Parents for Life) and Françoise Lebrun (The Book of Decisions). Les Rives du Fleuve is to be broadcast on France 2 in 2025.
