Education firm Cogna said Thursday that it had “no information to disclose to the market” about any transactions involving the company or rival Yduqs.
The announcement comes in response to an article in the newspaper Valor Econômico, which cites sources, according to which Cogna and Yduqs have returned to talk about a possible merger.
Cogna had previously attempted to buy Yduqs, but the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) rejected the deal in 2017, citing excessive market power resulting from the potential business combination.
At that time Cogna and Yduqs were called Kroton and Estácio respectively.
