Almost a year ago we introduced a quiz on movie titles consisting of just two names. A quiz in which we unexpectedly find the duet created by Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in Ridley Scott’s Thelma and Louise.
But also animated films like the lovely Ernest and Celestine, in which we can follow the adventures of this incredible association between the naughty little mouse and the big clumsy bear. Or even more recent feature films like Malcolm & Marie or Queen & Slim, released in 2021 and 2019 respectively.
Today, due to the release of the film Emanuela with Noemi Merlanti, who again plays the iconic role of Silvia Christel, we use this concept, but this time with film titles consisting of the name of one and only woman. Before you try for perfection, here are a few secrets of filming Audrey Divan.

No chair
If the rattan seat named “Pomare” was nicknamed “Emmanuel’s seat” after the iconic scene in the movie Just Jackin’, Audrey Divan decided to make the seat disappear… but kept another airplane scene (cult!).
Emmanuel 2.0
If the book is set in the 1950s and the film in the 1970s, the director wanted Emmanuelle to be present, with topical issues of societal taboos about female pleasure. Reading the film, according to Audrey Diwan, is the way in which Emmanuel avoids references to sexual performance to the detriment of pleasure.
while sinking
The actors all slept in a hotel in Hong Kong, where Emmanuelle was filmed almost exclusively. Due to a typhoon outside during filming, the crew had to stay indoors…just like in the movie!
