The revival of the series has been confirmed by the streaming platform and will bring back some of the main members of the original cast.
Paramount + has dropped the hammer and the “Criminal Minds” series will return to streaming, two years after stopping its 15-season run on the CBS network.

The production will bring together some of the main members of the original cast such as Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, AJ Cook, Aisha Tyler and Paget Brewster. Also on board is longtime showrunner Erica Messer. But actors Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney have not agreed to return.
The revival was anticipated by Mantegna on his Twitter on Tuesday (7/12), with a photo of a partially built set. “I’m doing a little inspection today for an upcoming project. #Criminalminds,” he wrote.
The news coincides with the departure of the series from Netflix, made official on June 30, where it was among the leaders of the streaming audience.
Created by Jeff Davis, “Criminal Minds” was one of the most popular shows on the CBS network of this century and spawned two spin-offs. The attraction follows an elite FBI team, studying the biggest criminal minds, anticipating their next steps, before they strike again.
But the move to streaming will bring format changes to the investigation.
Originally a one-episode criminal procedural series from 2005, the new version of Paramount + will be serialized, with the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) team working on a single case over the course of the season, which will span 10 episodes, instead of the traditional 22. of open TV.
