An operation has been mobilized to save a baby deer found with a broken leg and signs of exhaustion in a sugarcane field in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The action was coordinated by teams of the Environmental Military Police (PMA), after the farmers called the corporation to the sowing area, located 20 km from Costa Rica, a municipality in Mato Grosso do Sul.

Once on site, the officers found the weakened animal. First aid was provided right there and the puppy was subsequently taken to a rehabilitation clinic in the region.

The animal then received medication and food. As soon as he stabilized, the puppy was sent to the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center (CRAS), in the capital Campo Grande, where he will undergo specialized care.

According to the PMA, the operation highlights the work aimed at preserving wildlife, especially in agricultural areas, where the impact on animals is greatest due to human activity.
