The injured Palmeiras players train on their day off and have Dudu’s company

The attacker worked on the free day granted to the players by the technical staff. Mayke has the best chance of returning to the team

Palmeiras gave the team a break this Monday (30) after beating Atlético-MG last Saturday, 2-1, in Campinas. However, players recovering from injuries have been attending the Football Academy for continued treatment. The surprise was the presence of Dudu, who had the day off, but was at the CT.

Estevâo, Piquerez, Mayke and Michel were at the Academy to continue their respective treatments. They took advantage of the attacker’s presence and took a photo at the end of the work. Dudu posted the image on social media.

Estêvão and Piquerez took to the field. However, they are not allowed to return to play. They still have to finish healing their wounds and begin their physical transition.

Piquerez has little chance of returning to action in 2024. The Uruguayan underwent knee surgery in July and has been recovering ever since. Estêvão has an injury to his left thigh and has been undergoing treatment for two weeks. Palmeiras’ medical department expects to release the young striker within two weeks. The chances of facing Bragantino on Saturday (5) are slim.

Mayke increasingly closer to returning to Palmeiras

The closest person to wearing the black and white shirt again is right-back Mayke, who has suffered a calf injury. It is at a more advanced stage and the transition between the physical and technical parts has already begun. The player will be able to return to work with the rest of the team this week.

Michel, who is part of the professional team and the grassroots, lives with constant physical problems and did not participate in Abel Ferreira’s training sessions. Other athletes absent from Palmeiras are Marcelo Lomba (close to returning after groin pain), Marcos Rocha (pain in right thigh) and Bruno Rodrigues (left knee surgery).

Palmeiras will return to the pitch next Saturday, at 4.30pm (Brasilia time), to face Bragantino. The duel is scheduled for the Nabi Abi Chedid stadium, in Bragança Paulista.
