Issue 1: Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Eric Menendez
The disturbing story of two brothers, Lyle and Eric Menendez, who were convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents.
Viewer rating: 3.6/5
According to Spiculus75004 (5 of 5):
“We are forgetting the first season, this second we are changing the register to the famous case of the early 80s. Ryan Murphy is a genius. The photography, the actors, the psychology, the emotions that he manages to convey. Monsters 2 is incredible. .
According to Tarzanujan (4 of 5):
“A wonderful series that follows the family journey of the Melendez brothers, who are now serving life sentences for the murder of their parents. We gradually discover the motives of each character through a great story…and also that there are no monsters. Always what we think.”

“It’s too long because of what he says and below Dahmer in S1. In Dahmer we got to spend about 30 minutes on the trial, and in this S2 we spend more than half the season there. The extra accusations against the parents and especially the father are painful. “
why does it work
After the huge success of Dahmer in 2022, we expected Netflix and Ryan Murphy to turn the corner with the second volume of his anthology “Monstre(s)”. He and his loyal sidekick Ian Brennan decided to dedicate this new season to two brothers who are not serial killers, and whose abuse their father justified the crime. A completely different register, a different atmosphere (more pop and bright than Dahmer) and the treatment of the theme, which caused a great reaction from subscribers and one of the main stakeholders”.
Number 2: Nobody wants it

An incredible relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman and an unconventional rabbi.
Viewer rating: 3.8/5
According to Alice Ayres (5/5):
“Everybody wants to kiss like Noah kisses Joan! A poignant and modern series carried by a credible cast. Watch this afternoon, you’ll be well entertained. If there’s a second season, before it’s missed by the tides gone too far.”
According to Seb_1109 (5/5):
“A big favourite. I liked the characters, all very well drawn, the ending is quite complex and overall engaging. The story is not very engaging, you have to watch everything at once as this is not a series that will stop.
But it’s so fresh and honest in approach. Actors carry these film series (because in my opinion there should have been a film). They are new, good, very convincing. Bravo for sharing! The Jewish mother is perfect in her ultra-stereotypical role!”
According to Lia (4/5):
“An American romcom that doesn’t shy away from certain clichés, but turns out to be funny and fresh. Good dialogue and a convincing pair of actors with good chemistry. A series that can be watched independently and in a perfect short format. .”
why does it work
Thanks to its cast of nostalgic millennial icons (Kristen Bell, of Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl fame, and Adam Brody, of Newport Beach fame), its fresh and modern plot, and its fast-paced format, Nobody Wants This succeeds. To woo Netflix subscribers, to mocking Ryan Murphy’s top-viewing series.
Number 3: The Perfect Couple

A lavish wedding ends in disaster before it begins when a body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor hours before the ceremony. All guests are suddenly suspicious.
Viewer rating: 3.1/5
According to Francois G (4.5/5):
“The atmosphere of this series is reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s novels without Hercule Poirot. Indeed, the investigators here are ordinary policemen who do their job effectively without compromising on the difference of social classes.
The actors are all great. Nicole Kidman is perfect. Except for Isabel Ajani, who does not appear as a foil in this play. A rather austere social representation of these rich heiresses without any merit, shot without complacency.”
According to Charlotte28 (3/5):
“Using the clichés inherent in the rich man’s world, the series doesn’t take itself too seriously, considering its guilty pleasure aspect that can be seen quickly. The actors seem to be having fun (even if Isabelle Ajan and Nicole Kidman struggle to express anything. Except their youth!) This whodunit multiplies the false leads and dissimulations to a rather successful finale.Beautiful settings, catchy music and sharp dialogue: enjoyable entertainment!
According to the Mohs root (2.5/5):
“Totally a classic drama series, twists are overdone and fall apart quickly, we could easily reduce the number of episodes. I don’t understand the presence of Isabelle Ajani, she is nothing special, the acting of the actors as a whole. It is very average, worth watching, but nothing more.”
why does it work
White Lotus or Fertile David E. Fans of Kelly’s series (Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers, Love and Death, Presumed Innocent) have found what they are looking for in the mini-series A Perfect Couple, which is part of the genre of police and cynical melodramas with a polished aesthetic that defies the opulent strata of the wealthy population. Add to that a crazy cast and catchy credits, and you have ultra-effective entertainment!
Number 4: Creation of Kyonsong

Viewer rating: 3.9/5
According to Valentin Gigot (5/5):
“Honestly, Koreans are very strong to make original series, I was glued to the screen of this series, just exciting and fascinating from the first episode to the last, thanks to the creator and Netflix for letting me know a great moment throughout. It’s 10 episodes.”
According to JusteMoi (4/5):
“I really liked season 1. The plot is very good, the period reconstruction is very successful, the settings are great and the actors are great. The horror builds to a crescendo, but it’s the psychological aspect that really draws me in. I especially liked the beautiful photography, and it should also be emphasized that it’s a love story, very romantic , without sex, this is also a change.
According to Maxens Gilson (4/5):
“Nice story, nice photography, a little Stranger Things effect for a creature. An engaging main character, some length but quickly forgettable and compensated by the acting.”
why does it work
Everything Korean dramas touch turns to gold. Following the success of Sweet Home and Hellbound (not forgetting Squid Game, but in a different register), the first season of The Creature of Kyŏngsŏng was a huge success on Netflix in late 2023.
So it’s no surprise that Season 2 entered the platform’s top five in its first week of airing. Once again, fans of fantasy will be delighted, especially fans of scary scenes!
Number 5: Escape from prison

Fox
Michael Scofield is involved in a real battle against time: his brother Lincoln is awaiting execution and is awaiting execution. Convinced of his innocence but short on solutions, Michael decides to incarcerate them at the Fox River State Penitentiary in order to arrange their escape…
Viewer rating: 3.8/5
According to Caro (5/5):
“So I have to point out that 5 stars are for the first two seasons! I have never been so addicted to a series! It’s a shame that the producers wanted to make the most of Vienna. I still watched the last 3 seasons, but I was disappointed. “
According to stallonefan62 (4/5):
“The fifth and final season of Michael and his entire gang of misadventures!! The resurrection that is so far away, we really don’t know how he survived the electrocution!! Quite a short season, still an enjoyable story, despite the many inconsistencies and major plot twists, but the characters always remain attractive !!”
According to F. Mulder (2/5):
“Season 5, for my part, reminds me more of a bad remake of 24 Hours with the characters from Prison Break… a season that doesn’t really matter, except for the enjoyment of seeing the characters of the series. And then. , episode 9, for me, is a season for the sake of a season, completely flawed !”
why does it work
Popular almost 20 years after the first show, Prison Break continues to captivate fans around the world. Its stunning suspense, its incessant twists and the charisma of its two lead actors explain this timeless success.
In its first week on Netflix, the series became the most watched series in the world with 1.6 billion minutes watched in just a few days! It can be said that subscribers have been eagerly waiting for the return of this iconic series.
