In the video you can also see that a vehicle from Military Police passes by, but doesn’t stop the episode. In a note, the prime minister of Amazonas explained that the agents were called by the electoral judge of Coari to record, through videos, the candidate’s action.
“[As filmagens foram feitas] so that the basis can be created for the action of the Federal Police, responsible for the incident, as it was an electoral crime”, he added.
After being arrested by the Federal Police, he was taken to the city police station to explain what happened. “Given the facts, the individual has been sent to give statements to the police team and may be charged with electoral crimes,” the PF said.
Previously, before the episode, the lawyer had announced on his Instagram profile that he would throw the money in a public square in Coari for anyone who had been there. “They tried to buy us our dignity. We will throw the stolen money to the children, to social services, to the people of Coari. (…) This money must go back to the people. (…) We will throw the money to whoever is present” , he declared.
