Prime Video, the Amazon platform, has released the long-awaited trailer for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, the first series set in Middle-earth with characters created by writer JRR Tolkien. And the highlight of the preview, in addition to the impressive scenography, is an old acquaintance of the fans of this universe: the elf Galadriel.

British actress Morfydd Clark (“His Dark Materials”) played the role, played by Cate Blanchett in director Peter Jackson’s film trilogy.

Galadriel’s name is the only one pronounced in the preview. And your participation is really relevant. He appears on the scene to signal concern for dark times, after seeing what the enemy can do – a situation shown in an impressive flashback scene, in which Sauron’s eye pulsates in the clouds of destruction of a bloody slaughter.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has more than 20 characters, played by the likes of Peter Mullan (“Westworld”), Benjamin Walker (“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (“Spartacus “”), Maxim Baldry (“Years and Years”), Markella Kavenagh (“Picnic at Hanging Rock”), Trystan Gravelle (“Discover the Witches”), Augustus Prew (“The Morning Show”), Charles Edwards (“The Crown “)”) “)), Lenny Henry (” The Witcher “), Simon Merrells (” Spartacus “) and Joseph Mawle (” Game of Thrones “), among others.

Created by JD Payne and Patrick McKay (writers of “Star Trek: Without Borders”), the super production takes place thousands of years before the adventure of “The Fellowship of the Ring”, the first volume of the famous trilogy by British writer JRR Tolkien , and aims to show the forging of the iconic Rings of Power that baptize its attraction, as well as the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron and the Ultimate Alliance of Elves and Men.

The episodes are directed by JA Bayona (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Wayne Yip (“Doctor Who”) and Charlotte Brändström (“The Witcher”), and the premiere is scheduled for September 2.
