The most populous city in New Mexico will pay tribute to the protagonists of ‘Breaking Bad’
New Mexico’s most populous city, Albuquerque, will pay homage to one of the greatest series in television history by erecting two statues in honor of its protagonists: Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
Yes, ‘Breaking Bad’ will have two statues in the main city in which it developed its plot, and they will be courtesy of series creator Vince Gilligan himself.
The statues were commissioned by Gilligan in 2019 from sculptor Trevor Grove, and will now be loaned by the showrunner along with Sony Pictures Television for a preferred location in the city of Albuquerque.
“Over the course of fifteen years, two TV shows and a movie, Albuquerque has been wonderful for us. He wanted to return the favor with a detailGilligan said. “These huge bronze statues of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman exist through the generosity of Sony Pictures Television and the artistry of sculptor Trevor Grove, and I love them. It makes me happy to imagine them adorning Albuquerque for decades and attracting busloads of tourists“.
The statues will be displayed inside the Albuquerque Convention Center after being revealed July 29. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will include Mayor Keller, Gilligan, ‘Better Call Saul’ co-creator and executive producer Peter Gould, Emmy Award-winning actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, and special guests.

Bryan Cranston and Jesse Pinkman will reprise their iconic roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, possibly for the last time, in the final chapters of ‘Better Call Saul’which is wrapping up its season 6.
