He’s supposed to die from the beginning of the series
Unlike her sidekick Daryl, Carol appeared in the original comic. But we can’t really say that the character had such an impact on the readers of the comic, because he disappears from the beginning of the story. After the death of her husband Eddie, Carol found love again in the arms of Tyreese before he cheated on her.
Strongly affected by this betrayal, the latter sinks into madness and takes his own life. He returns as a corpse before finally killing Andrea. A sad ending that the series didn’t honor, which allowed the character to reveal himself.
American actress Melissa McBride’s interpretation allowed Carol to become the character most appreciated by fans. He was supposed to die in season 3, but in the end it was T-Dog who was killed in his place.
He holds a unique record in the franchise
Carol is the only character from any series to appear in three different runs of The Walking Dead. A main character in the main series, he also appeared in an episode of the spin-off Fear the Walking Dead. As of September 30, he is in the cast of Season 2 of Daryl Dixon.
Carol was supposed to appear in the first season of the show. But filming the series in France did not fit into Melissa McBride’s family schedule, and therefore the American actress had to withdraw from the project.
She is the only one with Daryl to appear in all seasons
Carol also holds another record for being the only one with Daryl to appear in all eleven seasons of the original program. The latter, introduced in episode 3 of the series, has therefore managed to survive all obstacles thrown its way.
The deadliest of the group of heroes
The deadliest character in the series is Daryl, who has a total of 89 victims. However, Carol is third in the ranking – and in the ranking of female characters – with 52 kills.
There is no audition for the role
Melissa McBride got the role of Carol without going through the audition process. This is partly explained by the fact that this character was only supposed to appear in a few episodes and therefore did not require the presence of a more famous actor.
According to Melissa McBride, she was cast as Carol without an audition due to her previous casting in The Mist..
Season 2 of Daryl Dixon can be seen every Monday exclusively on Paramount+, also available with a subscription to Canal+.
