Transformers: From Worst to Best

Slaughtered by critics, “Transformers: The Last Knight” is widely considered one of the worst films based on the Hasbro toy line.
Michael Bay’s direction and plot were highlighted as the main weaknesses of the fifth live-action installment of the series.

The fourth installment of the “Transformers” film series, “Age of Extinction,” is notable for its inclusion of the Dinobots.
Despite its commercial success, the film received largely negative reception from critics. The general consensus is that Michael Bay’s confusing, noisy action will only appeal to less discerning fans of the genre.

The second live-action adaptation of “Transformers” was a huge success at the box office.
However, the film received largely negative reception in the trade media. The film won three Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture.

The third installment of the live-action “Transformers” series, “Dark Side of the Moon,” repeated the financial success of its predecessors.
However, it was received poorly by critics in general, with negative reviews mainly focusing on the screenplay and long runtime.
However, the film received praise for its soundtrack and visual effects. It was also nominated in the Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Visual Effects categories at the 84th Academy Awards.

Serving as a prequel to “Transformers” (2007), “Rise of the Beasts” received mixed critical reception. The film was classified as generic, but with some good moments.

The animated film based on the 1984 animated television series, “Transformers – The Movie”, received negative reception upon its release.
However, over the years, animation has been reevaluated in a more positive light.

The first live-action adaptation of the Hasbro toy line, “Transformers,” achieved great success at the box office.
Critical reception was mixed, with praise directed at the special effects and sound design. The film received three Oscar nominations in the Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Special Effects categories.
However, the action scenes and performances generated differing opinions among critics.

Serving as a prequel and spin-off to “Transformers” (2007), “Bumblebee” was well received by critics overall.
The main praise went to the action sequences, the graphics, the 80s setting and the nostalgia factor that permeates the film.

And first place goes to the animation “Transformers: The Beginning”. Well received by critics, the production received praise especially for the plot and the quality of the animation.
