The new Spider-Man is already filming and the first photos are here!

“In 1930s New York, an aging, discredited private detective struggles with his past as the city’s only superhero.”: That’s what awaits us in Spider-Noir, Marvel’s new live-action series created by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot for Prime Video.

Indeed, while Sony is still continuing the Spider-Man stories on the big screen, the studio is now moving to the small screen with one version of the main character: Spider-Noir. And the show will be headlined by none other than the beloved Nicolas Cage, who will be making his live-action debut as the titular hero.

After voicing the character in Spider-Man: New Generation (2018), the legendary actor will now get the chance to play him for ‘real’ and the least we can say is that we can’t wait to see him for real. This time in the skin of this antiquated detective from Marvel Comics.

Rounding out the rest of the cast will be Brendan Gleeson, an actor from the Harry Potter franchise who can also currently be seen in Joker: Folie à Deux, who will play the series’ main villain. Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Fargo), who recently won an Emmy, will play Robbie Robertson, a journalist straight out of the comics. We can also find Lee Joon Lee (Babylon), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, Fargo), Abraham Popula (Andor), Amanda Shull (Suits), Lucas Haas (Inception, The Revenant), Cameron Britton (Mindhunter, Umbrella Academy), Michael Kostroff (On Listen) or even a young Carrie Christopher (Days of Life).

Meanwhile, the first live photos from the set have been revealed and we’ve got the scoop Nicolas Cage As a mysterious superhero who obviously won’t be Peter Parker in this version. The setting also provides the first look at the 1930s New York that will be at the heart of the series.
