“The opposition is in Parliament, we will work together with the elected mayors,” says Castro

The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, voted this Sunday morning, 6, in a municipal school in Barra da Tijuca, west of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

“I have a very calm relationship with the mayors, regardless of the party, regardless of the political issue. This is what I always say, the role of the opposition or the situation is in parliament. The managers have the obligation to work together. Whoever wins , we will make it work together, because this is how I do with the federal government. So I believe that this will also be the relationship with the mayors. It is and will be a republican and friendly relationship,” Castro said in a note distributed to the press.

The security system for municipal elections in the state of Rio de Janeiro involves 25,567 professionals, including civil and military police, firefighters and agents of the Segurança Presente program, the state government reported. The Military Police operates with 22,667 officers and 505 vehicles, as well as three aircraft and drones for aerial monitoring.
