After the Santos defeat, Carille vents: ‘What I see on the street, I don’t see in the stadium’

Peixe is overtaken by Goiás, Serrinha and misses the opportunity to regain leadership of Serie B

This Monday (7), Santos wasted a great opportunity to regain the lead in Série B after being defeated by Goiás 3-1, at the Serrinha stadium. The team could have taken advantage of Novorizontino’s stumble, defeated by Amazonas, but they failed to do so.

Under pressure from fans for quality football, manager Fábio Carille showed considerable discomfort with the team’s performance.

“My absence at the press conference has nothing to do with the criticism. I have experience to understand the situation and my group works with me. I feel very comfortable at CT. We know our difficulties. We have problems, like all the other clubs I’m calm, I go home and take a walk. I like Santos. What I see on the street is different from what I see in the stadium.

“I think we started the match very slowly, without a spirit of competition and decision. We had remained unbeaten for eight matches, it was up to us. We have eight decisions ahead of us. We still don’t have a clear vision of the error situation, but we will correct, we will train and we will think about the decision against Mirassol”, concluded the Peixe commander.

After Serie B, Santos will face Mirassol next Saturday, at 6.30pm (Brasilia time), at home.
