New, which features around 20 hours of interviews with Lyle and Erik Menendez, has just arrived in the Netflix catalog
After the success of the miniseries Menendez Brothers: Parental Killersmost recent chapter of the anthology MonstersNetflix has just released the documentary The Case of the Menendez Brothersanother production about the shocking crime of Lyle and Erik Menendez against their own parents.
The news brings new elements about the case, such as 20 hours of never-before-seen interviews with the brothers, who revisit, for the first time in 30 years, the trial that sentenced them to prison in the 1990s, with the help of original court images.
Furthermore, The Case of the Menendez Brothers also retrieves important details of the case, such as the connection of Lyle to the Beverly Hills police on the night of August 20, 1989, when they committed the murders of Kitty and José Menendezand images of the crime scene.
Finally, the production — directed by the Argentine filmmaker Alejandro Hartmann (The Photographer and the Postman: The Crime that Stopped Argentina), which promises to offer “a new view and a new perspective on a case that people only think they know about” — also features interviews with lawyers involved in the trial, journalists who covered the case and family members, and addresses, mainly, the accusations of sexual abuse against the father of the Menendez brothers.
