Back to Black, biopic of Amy Winehouse
biographical film about Amy Winehouse is in production by studiochannelaccording to billboard. Entitled Back to Blackfeature film seeks the ideal actress to play the pop music icon.
The name of the production is inspired by the most successful album by amy, Back to Black(2006). The project features the tracks “rehab,” “You Know I’m No Good” and “Tears Dry On Their Own,” and topped the charts.
The direction will be Sam Taylor-Johnsonknown for working on Fifty Shades of grey(2015). This won’t be the first music-related film in the filmmaker’s career – she directed The Liverpool Boy (2009), musical about John Lennon. according to gshow, Sam looking for an unknown actress for the lead role.
Matt Greenhalgh will be the screenwriter, while Alison Owen, Debra Hayward and Tracey Seaward sign the production. There is no release date set for Back to Black.
Amy Winehouse has won other films since his death at age 27. Asif Kapadia made an award-winning documentary at the Oscar 2016. In 2021, BBC also produced a feature film about the British singer, entitled Reclaiming Amy.
