Discover on the Paramount+ platform a tense and dark French thriller, the kind we don’t make anymore, directed by Albert Dupontel, Jean Dujardin and François Berlean: Le Convoyeur, which celebrates its thirtieth anniversary this year!
Vigilante, a small delivery company, suffered three violent robberies that left no survivors. In the atmosphere of crisis and the risk of losing jobs, conveyors are under tension. Then comes Alexandre Demar, a mysterious mercenary whose past seems mysterious. Who is he and what does he really want?
Nicolas Boucherif’s third work after Va Morte and Le Plaisir (et ses petits hassles), Le Convoyeur is a thriller in the spirit of 80s French detective cinema with dark characters, a tense context and a hostile urban environment.
By focusing on cash conveyors, the film chooses a little-known world that is quite alien to the world of cinema, which often presents them only as anonymous victims of robberies, whether in thrillers or westerns. Here the conveyors have a name, a name and a life. And they are scared.
This social dimension of the film is the crux of this effectively crafted film, which Albert Dupont brings to his best form and careful production.
Twice a remake

An American-British remake of the film was released in 2021, An Angry Man by Guy Ritchie with Jason Statham, and a second remake is in the works, this time starring Sandra Bullock. Set for release in 2025, the director will be Joseph Kubota Vladyka, to whom we owe several episodes of Narcos and Tokyo Vice.
