A surveillance camera installed inside the Mini Kalzone unit, at Shopping Iguatemi, recorded the moment the establishment’s employee was assaulted by a customer (see below). In the images it is possible to see the woman throwing a glass of juice at the victim, who is then consoled by a colleague.

The case dates back to the end of September. The attack allegedly occurred after the customer requested a straw and was informed that the store had not provided one. Angry, the 48-year-old woman threw the product at the employee.

The police are investigating the case, which had repercussions on social media. According to delegate Alexandre Vieira, the attacker could be held responsible for the crime of actual insult, a crime for which the expected punishment ranges from three months to one year in prison.

The operator, a 19-year-old girl, revealed her feelings through a video in which, very shaken, she said she was suffering from an anxiety attack and that she had never experienced a similar situation.

Mini Kalzone, in an official note, informs that it will provide all legal and psychological support to the employee, absent from work due to illness. The company has also contacted the relevant authorities and mall security to identify and hold the attacker accountable.

“Mini Kalzone deeply regrets the incident that occurred on September 28, 2024, in one of our franchise units in Porto Alegre, where our employee was the victim of unacceptable aggression and humiliation by a customer. The incident was caused by customer dissatisfaction with the policy of not providing straws, adopted in strict compliance with local legislation.

From the moment the incident occurred, our team intervened promptly to provide the employee with the necessary support, offering resources so that she could return home safely and be welcomed into her family environment. Furthermore, appropriate measures were immediately taken by contacting the relevant authorities and project security to help identify the attacker.

Less than 8 hours after the incident, a police report was recorded, attaching security footage of the store.

Since the incident, we have continued to actively collaborate with the authorities to ensure that those responsible are identified and that justice is served, acting with transparency and respect for legal procedures. We clarify that, in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), security images cannot be shared publicly and are only available to relevant authorities.

Mini Kalzone provided legal and psychological support to the employee, reiterating our commitment to ensuring her well-being and safety. For us this is not just an isolated case of violence, but an affront to the values ​​and principles we defend. We will spare no effort to protect our team and seek accountability for the acts committed.
