Un, dos, tres: The first photo and the full cast of the rest of the series have been released

Twenty years after the first episode of Un, Dos, Tres aired on Spanish television, the cult series that celebrated an entire generation will soon make its grand comeback in the form of a sequel. Called UPA Next, after the original title Un paso adelante and the UPA Dance group formed in the 2000s by some of the cast of the series, it follows the adventures of a new generation of students who will develop as adults at the Carmen Aranz Academy of Performing Arts.

Consisting of eight episodes and destined for Spanish streaming platform Astresplayer, this revival, announced last December, will see the return of the three iconic actors of Un, dos, tres: Mónica Cruz, Beatriz Luengo and Miguel Ángel Muñoz, who once again shine in Cannes. Silvia, Lola and Roberto.

And while the date of the show has not yet been announced, filming has indeed begun, as Lola Fernandez’s translator announced on social networks earlier this week.

And because good news never comes alone, the Atresmedia team organized an interactive event on Twitch this Thursday, July 14, to introduce the newcomers, reveal the first photo of the cast and provide more details on UPA Next.

Returning from the United States after a 15-year absence, Roberto decides to stage a musical with UPA Dance hits. However, he will have to convince Sylvia and Lola to participate in the project, while hiding a heavy secret from them.

For her part, Silvia is now the director of the academy after the retirement of Carmen Aranci. If he initially refuses to see his old classmates again, he will soon be convinced in the hope that he will attract new students to the school and thereby get out of financial difficulties.

Lola is now a mother of two little girls aged 5 and 7 who live with their father in Barcelona. Those who are separated share custody of their children. After a disagreement with Sylvia, Lola dropped out of school to become a choreographer. However, she decides to participate in the musical.

Anyone who says new students is definitely saying that new actors will portray them. Thus, Quique González lives alone with Omar, a young Cuban of humble origin, with his mother and his young brothers. Music and dance are his only refuge.

Monica Mara will play Andrea, a young woman from an affluent background who is described as vivacious and fun-loving, who inherited her love of dancing from her mother, who died a few years earlier. The character of Luke, played by Marc Bettrew, is presented as funny, irreverent and good-natured. He tends to live in the present and has difficulty making friends.

Claudia Lachispa plays Elvira, a talented but somewhat naive singer who has never left her hometown. On the other hand, Almudena Salorti camps Lala Lazi, a rapper who had to learn to fend for herself after her mother’s imprisonment. Under the mask of a strong and independent woman hides an empathetic and very protective person.

The character of Sergio (Mark Soler) lives in the US with his mother and has only one dream: to follow his father, a dancer he never knew. Unless he’s the most talented in the group, he’ll work hard to stand out, and sometimes be dishonest.

Influenced by K-Pop, Tara, played by Karina Soro, is obsessed with dancing, an area in which she excels. Sincere and pleasant, he is a very attentive and loving person. Alex Media stars as Suso, a great dancer who suffers from anxiety attacks that drive him to use drugs. Finally, Nuno Galician will lend his qualities to Dario, a young student specializing in music who plays guitar and piano.

Two new teachers will also help Silvia, Lola, and Roberto: Lucas Velasco (seen in boarding school: Las Cumbres) and Marta Guerras, who will camp, respectively, Luiso, the hero’s right arm camped by Monica Cruz, and Syrah, the newcomer. to the academy.

Fans will also be pleased to know that Lola Herrera will also be returning to the role of former school principal Carmen Arans for a few appearances.

No French broadcasters have been announced at this time. But in the meantime, fans of Un, dos, tres can find the entire original series on the Salto platform.
