It’s time for Prime Video to adopt a practice that began with Netflix and has become a trend across other streaming services. This Tuesday (15), Amazon confirmed that its platform will also have advertising interruptions in Brazil starting from 2025.
The change also affects customers in other markets, including Japan, India, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Like its competitors, Prime Video will maintain a more expensive subscription option with no gaps.
More ads on Prime Video
News began circulating in early October that Amazon will show more ads on Prime Video starting in 2025. Now it’s possible that the change will also reach customers of the service in Brazil.

This change comes less than a year after the introduction of advertisements on the platform, a practice now common among the main streaming services on the market. It is not yet clear, for example, how many new commercials will be included in the series’ episodes or how they will be distributed.
