Sunrise on the Reaping will be released in March 2025 and, the following year, will be adapted for cinema
The new book in the franchise Hunger Games, Sunrise on the Reaping (Dawn of the Harvestin free translation), gained an official synopsis. The news, written by Suzanne Collinshits bookstores in March 2025 and, in November of the following year, gets a film adaptation.
What is the story of the new film?
The new chapter of the franchise is set during the 50th edition of the Hunger Games, which had Haymitch Abernathy — played by Woody Harrelson (Zombieland) in the movies — as a winner. Years later, he became a mentor for Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the competition.
The 50th edition was also marked by being the second Quartenary Massacre in the history of the Hunger Games, a “commemorative” version of the competition, which brings some changes to the games.
