Adapted several times to the screen, the video game franchise Resident Evil This time, it’s being turned into a live-action series for Netflix. The story, which follows two timelines in parallel, focuses on the origin of the T-virus in New Raccoon City in 2022 and its dire consequences fourteen years later in 2036.
Unfortunately, the result is likely to divide fans, starting with movie buffs—quite a few, despite the questionable quality of the sequel. Fiction created by Andrew Dabb – former showrunner Supernatural – has nothing to do with the saga embodied by Milla Jovovich from 2002 to 2017. The character of Alice – created just for the film franchise – is not mentioned.
As for video games, the link is not obvious. The famous character Albert Wesker does appear in the series, but in a completely different form. He is portrayed by Lance Reddick, who plays the role of a scientist and a family man. He is developing a pharmaceutical called Joy.
