Player Nadia Nadim showed on her social network the moment she stitched up her leg after suffering an injury. The Afghan-Danish athlete, who currently plays for Milan, has put into practice her knowledge of medicine, the field in which she graduated.

The player’s attitude is another example of her strength in overcoming challenges since childhood. At the age of 9, Nadia lost her father, who was a general in the Afghan National Army. He was eventually murdered by the Taliban. After the event, she, her mother and sisters had to flee the country on false passports.

The family’s destination was Pakistan. Subsequently the family went to Italy. The journey had London as its final point. In the capital of England they met other relatives, who were also refugees in the European country. However, they ended up in the town of Randers, Denmark, where they traveled between several refugee camps. In the countryside, Nadia took her first steps in football.
