Odile Vulemin as her husband’s killer
A serial killer, a liar, a femme fatale, or a stay-at-home mom who’s always had to fight for survival from a young age? That’s what Gendarmerie Captain Matilda Delbosque, who is in charge of investigating the death of Isabelle’s husband, Pascal Bono, wants to know. When he is called to the scene of a tragedy, this young investigator has no idea that he will be faced with the case of his career, if not his life…
The screenplay for Un Soupçon, written by Franck Olivier, is loosely inspired by a grim French news story. Daniel Cano survived a fire in his home in 2008. On sleeping pills, he still survived this tragedy… a month later he would lose his life!
A story inspired by the news
Therefore, a few weeks later, coal was found in the burnt car of the victim. His wife Manuela Gonzalez is suspected of his murder! the reason Get the money from your husband’s life insurance… but the main stakeholder wouldn’t be on the first try! She lost two previous husbands really strangely…
After years of trial, Manuela Gonzalez was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of her last companion. As for her first two husbands, insufficient evidence has been found to prove her direct connection to this death…but suspicion remains, and she thus inherited the nickname “The Black Widow of Yser”.
Odile Vuillemin subtly plays this dangerous woman in Un Suspicion. An interesting play (and Joyce Bibring, who plays the investigator) to watch tonight on France 2 from 9.05pm.
