On Monday, July 18, it all starts here…
At breakfast, everyone in the Teissier family except Axel is stressed out waiting for Vatel’s results. That’s when Theo gets the long-awaited call: Double A has indeed won the prize! The Teysiers explode with joy, while Theo doesn’t seem to really get it.
A little later, Teysier joins Theo in the courtyard of the institute and congratulates him. He really deserves this award. Theo then confides in his father that since childhood he always wanted to be like him, even though he was ashamed of himself. Emmanuel assures him that it never happened. If he pushed her around, it was because he saw her potential and wanted her to be the best. Today Tessier can finally show his son how proud he is of him.
He’s not the only one, as the school kids and Clotilda throw Theo a little impromptu party at Double A.
Meanwhile, Charlene tries to comfort Louis. He is sure that one day he will have the Vattel prize. She adds that she should probably consider thinking about her future outside the institute. But Guino’s son already has an idea: he wants Charlene and him to introduce themselves on social networks, so that they can become the couple that everyone envies.
Theo, on the other hand, is lost. He confides in Axel that he doesn’t understand why Celia left without warning and that he hasn’t been able to find out if they’re still together. Their discussion is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Celia. Axel pulls away to let the pair talk. Celia admits to Theo that she was actually with her grandparents in Nimes and that she came back because she didn’t want to leave like this.
Celia is proud of Theo. He knows that this prize and the fact that he is the chef of reference of Double A is something that will make him very happy. And he wants her to be happy. with or without it. Theo suggests a long-distance relationship, but Celia thinks it won’t work. They are too intense to live things by halves.
A young woman swears to Theo that she had the best history with him. But now he has to focus on his desires. And the one about living in Paris. Knowing that Celia will be leaving for Paris in two hours, Theo plans to take advantage of the time he has left with her and grab her before taking her with him.
At the Hotel Beaumont, Chef DeLabel tells Alba that he has decided to transfer him to the position of steward since the establishment will be closed during the championship. Alban feels humiliated once again. He still hadn’t swallowed that he had been promoted from a pastry chef to an assistant. This is the last straw for him. DeLobel assures him that he is not going to fire him for all this, but regrets that Alban is not comfortable with anything he has to offer.
On the beach, Anais goes to meet Swann, Chef Cardone’s second-in-command, to get to know each other. Their discussion was interrupted by the arrival of Chief Demir and his deputy Ruben. They arrived at the hotel an hour ago and were looking for Anais everywhere. Embarrassed, the young woman, who didn’t think they were going to move out so soon, rushes home to change.
In the kitchen, Anais struggles to keep herself together. It is somewhat dated and does not make a good first impression on Reuben. Anais complains to Chief Demir that Ruben isn’t more talkative. He believes that communication is important. But the elder Demir promises him that Ruben is an excellent second and advises him to respect the hierarchy and trust the young man.
Teissier, Salome and Enzo arrive at Beaumont’s hotel. Emanuel meets Alban, with whom he studied a long time ago, and does not miss to humiliate him. In a disdainful tone, he explains to his students that Albany was a pastry chef before being overtaken by Noemi and demoted to steward. Salome and Swann try to get promoted to the position of steward, but to no avail. Teissier continues his former comrade, adding that at that time Albany was convinced of genius.
Later, on the beach, Anais introduces Salome to Swann. Without warning them, Cardoni’s second snaps a photo of the moment of complicity between the two friends. He found this moment very cute and couldn’t help it. Swan gives the snapshot to Salome, who realizes that she is alone in the frame. Would Swan fall for him?
Chef DeLobel prepared a welcome drink for the four competing teams. Teissier and Cardone are more than willing to go head-to-head.
In the evening, Noemi points out to Alba that there is no more champagne. He tries to find out where the other bottles are kept, but Alban is frustrated, thinking that Noemi thinks he’s underhanded, just filling glasses well. The young chef claims that this is not the case, but Alban doesn’t want to hear anything. Before leaving, he makes Naomi swear that he will pay for what he did to her.
Hortense and Mehdi decided to call the freshmen to form a pop-up brigade. But Amber, Jasmine, Deva and the others let them know they won’t forgive how they got the head of the pop-up restaurant. In solidarity with Lionel and Kelly, they refuse to work at the Pop-up. Frustrated and surprised, Mehdi and Hortense try to put on a good face and tell the first years that they are missing out on a great opportunity.
Called by Clotilda, Lionel and Kelly are happy to hear that their comrades are supporting them. They want to fight for their rights, but Clotilda grabs a gun. Mehdi then has an idea: he proposes to Kelly and Lionel and Hortense, and they pit him against each other at a tasting. The winning pair will remain at the top of the Pop-up. Chef Armand receives the reception. She informs them that they will have to present one plate each at 3 p.m.
Hortense and Mehdi present Clotilde with mackerel, pepper fondue and tomato sorbet, presented as a soft dish. According to Chef Armand, the dish is simple and successful. Kelly and Lionel, meanwhile, prepared langoustines accompanied by seaweed tartare. An elaborate dish that Clotilde does not welcome.
Clotilda is impressed by the quality of the two dishes, but her choice is made: Mehdi and Hortense are the winners. For him, Kelly and Lionel’s dish was too close to double-A cuisine, although the pop-up is not meant to be a clone of the app’s restaurant. The kitchen should be family friendly and accessible. Clotilda adds that she hopes that Kelly and Lionel will reason with the freshmen.
