Whitney Houston’s story will be portrayed by the screenwriter of the hit Bohemian Rhapsody
Whitney Houston will win a biopic by the hands of Anthony McCartenscreenwriter of success Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). The production also has other prominent names and members of the singer’s family.
Sony Pictures Brasil announced this Thursday, 14th, the national title of the singer’s biopic Whitney Houston. Entitled I Wanna Dance With Somebody: The Whitney Houston Storythe production will arrive in national cinemas in January 2023.

In addition to McCarten, Kasi Lemmons (harriet) is part of the production team as a director, while the screenwriter also works as a producer alongside Clive Davis, Larry Master & Denis O’Sullivan and Pat Houston – the latter was Houston’s former businesswoman and sister-in-law.
Naomi Ackie will be the protagonist and will act with Stanley Tucciwhich interprets Clive DavisHouston’s essential partner during his early career. Tamara Tunie, Clarke Peters, Ashton Sanders, Nafessa Williams and more are also part of the cast.
Those responsible for the Houston will be involved with the production, so the film will feature songs by the singer, known for hits such as ‘I Will Always Love You’, ‘Greatest Love Of All’, ‘I Look To You’ and ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’.
Houston was born in 1963, and has been singing in the choir since she was a little girl. As a teenager she worked as a model, and at 19 she signed her first record deal. She won a total of 6 Grammy Awards and sold millions of records throughout her career.
His personal life has always been very busy and turmoil involving domestic abuse and drug use. The singer passed away in 2012.
