Endrick and Savinho are the Brazilian finalists of the Golden Boy, best under 21

The award highlights the best young players in Europe and is the favorite of Lamine Yamal, Barcelona and the Spanish national team

The Brazilians Endrick, of Real Madrid, and Savinho, of Manchester City, have been nominated and are among the 25 finalists of the Golden Boy Award, awarded by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport to the best under-21 athletes playing in Europe.

Indeed, the favorites for the award are Lamine Yamal, of Barcelona, who won the Euro Cup in 2024, the Argentine Alejandro Garnacho, of Manchester United, and the Englishman Rico Lewis, of Manchester City.

However, the winner will be chosen on December 4th. Two Brazilians have already won the award: Anderson (formerly Manchester United), in 2008, and Alexandre Pato (formerly Milan), in 2009; they are the only people born in Brazil to win the trophy. The award has existed since 2003.

Savinho is also in the running for the award –

But, ultimately, how does the prize work? In recent years Tuttosport has partnered with the consultancy firm Football Benchmark, which has created a performance ranking of candidates. The prize will be defined based on the scores and evaluation of the journalists.
